What this page teaches
Hangul is the Korean alphabet. Each letter is a sound, and letters stack into syllable blocks. You do not need to memorize English spellings first. Learn the shapes here, then read real words.
Start with Consonants (ㄱ ㄴ ㄷ …) and Vowels (ㅏ ㅓ ㅗ …). Tap a card and press play. Say the sound before you look at the romanization. When ㄱ and ㅏ feel familiar, open Combine and build 가 (ㄱ + ㅏ). Add a final letter to make 한 (ㅎ + ㅏ + ㄴ), as in 한국.
One rule that saves a week: ㅇ is silent at the start of a syllable (안) and sounds like “ng” at the end (강). Mark a letter learned only when you recognize it with the audio off.
